Release Day - Three Times Elspeth Harris Rode to Town

It's new book day again. Something a bit different for me, a historical, set in the Old West. See there was a writing prompt, and I got an idea and here we are. It's a short novella, about 20,000 words long.

Three Times Elspeth Harris Rode to Town

Three summer weddings bring Elspeth to town, kindling an urge in Rose to learn more about her. Rose learns they have many ideas in common, and hopes she can learn Elspeth’s secrets before summer ends.

There had never been as much excitement in the town of Ghostbrook as there was the day Elspeth Harris faced trial for shooting a man. But it’s a clear case of self-defense, and she’s soon free to attend a wedding, where she meets Rose O’Sullivan, the town’s only seamstress, and engages her to make some unusual alterations.

Rose knows Elspeth has a secret she is protecting, one Rose has only seen hints of. As a lover of dime novels and tales of adventure, Rose’s imagination runs wild. Could Elspeth be a government agent? An undercover lady Pinkerton?

When they meet again at another wedding and share confidences about their lives and the difficulties of being a woman alone in the world, Rose grows ever more intrigued by the mysterious Elspeth. What secrets lie behind her beautiful, but aloof exterior?

Rose will finally learn those secrets when the third wedding of the summer comes around and with it, a bold proposal.

More Backlist Bonanza books and a hint about what's coming soon!

The Backlist Bonanza continues

Liar's Waltz, the first book of the Travellers series (and my first ever published book!) is now on wide release - it's available right now on JMS books, and will show up on Smashwords and other ebook retailers in a couple of days.

Bar owner Karl thinks his new lover is an ally in the fight to save Eternity — the last gay bar on space station Saira. But Greg is actually a reluctant spy desperately trying to salvage his military career.

Available now on JMS Books

Stowaway, the second book of the series, is now on Amazon. It will be exclusively on Amazon for three months and then go on wide release. While exclusive on Amazon it will be available on Kindle Unlimited.

Bedding stowaway Kit is a bad idea for cargo freighter security chief Raine. Kit agrees - he’s been screwed over enough by authority. But they can’t resist the attraction even though they face being parted for good at the end of the voyage.

The Haunted Diamond - newest release out now!

My latest release is out now. A historical/paranormal F/F novel, set in the 1920s, called The Haunted Diamond.

The Haunted Diamond

Carrying a stolen diamond across the Atlantic to New York is already a stressful job for jewel thief Bobbie. She didn’t reckon on also dealing with Iandara, the temporarily-corporeal ghost bound to the cursed stone and determined to destroy it. Or with her double-crossing ex-partner, Frances, out to steal it. What’s a girl to do? Not fall in love. That would be a terribly silly thing to do.

State of the Bee

I feel like this is a very transitional time. Like everything is new.

  • New king here in the UK, which is a very odd thing to get used to
  • New PM (closely followed by another new PM.)
  • New owner for Twitter (I have Thoughts about Twitter, but that will be its own post eventually) who's apparently doing his best to kill it off, so that means...
  • Now new social media to try out. Find me on Mastodon.
Other things, like the pandemic, like menopause and other personal stuff going on have me feeling that it's time for a fresh start. But one old thing is new again - I'm publishing once more! Woohoo!
